Understanding the FREE² Movement
The FREE² Movement confronts how poverty creates educational inequality, fuels the school-to-prison pipeline, and threatens the lives, rights, and freedom of impoverished people.
It begins with education. When poor children lack access to equitable schools, adequate resources, and supportive learning environments, they are more vulnerable to exclusion, criminalization, and incarceration.
The “2” in FREE² means freedom squared; freedom multiplied across generations. Through education, advocacy, civic engagement, and community action, FREE² works to interrupt this cycle and create pathways toward spiritual, psychological, emotional, educational, civic, social, legal, and economic freedom.
