Black America, a trumpet is sounding!
As the sun sets on Friday, September 11, 2026, Rosh Hashanah begins. The observance continues through nightfall on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Rosh Hashanah is commonly called the Hebraic New Year. In Scripture, however, this appointed time is known as Yom Teruah—the Day of Shouting or Blowing of Trumpets. YHWH commanded Israel to observe the first day of the seventh month as a Sabbath rest, a memorial marked by the blast of trumpets, and a holy convocation (Leviticus 23:23–25; Numbers 29:1–6). The trumpet is not merely ceremonial. It is an alarm, an announcement, a summons, and a call to remembrance.
This year, that call carries extraordinary weight.
Crossing Into the Seventh Day
The standard Jewish calendar identifies this coming year as 5787. But, I want to state clearly that the chronology presented in mainstream media and its “prophecies” are not accurate based on an Instagram video posted by @redpillfiles, dated August 11, 2022, which presents an 1800s Bible containing a chronology that brings us to crossing over into the Millennial Kingdom in 2026. If this is accurate (which I believe it is) then we are at the opening of the seventh millennium; the seventh “day” in the pattern of creation.
Now, I have not independently verified the Bible’s edition, publication information, or the accuracy of that chronology. AND, I strongly encourage readers to examine the video carefully rather than accepting any historical claim without investigation. But my Spirit bears witness with the dates and where we are as a society.
Scripture says that with YHWH, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8). From this pattern, I and other believers understand six thousand years of human history as corresponding to the six days of labor, followed by a seventh millennium corresponding to Sabbath rest and the reign of Messiah. Revelation 20 describes Messiah’s millennial reign, but based on Scripture, no one knows the day or time for His return. Therefore, this message is a call to recognize the seriousness of the prophetic season and to live ready before YHWH.
Whether a person accepts 5787 or the proposed 6000 chronology, the spiritual demand before us remains the same: repent, return, remember, and prepare.
A Church Divided and a People Awakening
The American church is increasingly divided. The historical experiences, public priorities, and political expressions of much of white Christianity have often differed sharply from those of Black Christianity. Black believers have had to seek YHWH while living under slavery, segregation, racial terror, economic exclusion, and continuing injustice; while those systems were defended from many white pulpits with the same Bible.
Now another division is widening within Black religious life itself. Believers are questioning doctrines they inherited, investigating the Hebrew foundations of Scripture, or walking away from institutional religion altogether. With the increased public exposure of sexual abuse, financial exploitation, manipulation, hypocrisy, celebrity culture, political compromise, and failures of accountability; many wounds of the church are being brought into the light. Therefore, people are leaving Christian congregations to seek God on their own.
We must tell the truth about the failures of church institutions without erasing the historic role of the Black church. It has been a sanctuary, schoolhouse, organizing center, cultural home, and cradle of movements for freedom. Yet no institution is above correction. When tradition conceals truth, protects wrongdoing, or replaces the commandments of YHWH, awakening demands examination.
Many Black Hebrew believers hold that Black Americans (particularly descendants of enslaved Africans in the Americas) are descendants of the biblical Israelites. This identity claim is deeply held by many, but it is still disputed, nor has it been established and recognized in mainstream media as a universal historical fact. In this article, I write from my own divine conviction in that our people have been defrauded of our “true” identity and covenantal rights in context through which Scripture, Messiah, and redemption must be understood. That conviction should lead us not to racial pride or hatred, but to covenant responsibility, repentance, obedience, and righteousness.
If we claim to be Israel’s descendants; then, we must also accept Israel’s obligation to hear and obey YHWH.
These Are YHWH’s Appointed Times
The holy days do not originate with a denomination, modern nation, or religious institution. YHWH calls them “My appointed times” and commands sacred assembly (Leviticus 23:1–4). Scripture repeatedly describes His appointed observances as enduring statutes throughout the generations. The Feast of Trumpets itself is directly commanded as a Sabbath rest, memorial of trumpet blowing, and holy convocation (Leviticus 23:23–25).
For followers of Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) (translated to Joshua meaning “YHWH is Salvation” or “YHWH saves”shortened to Yeshua), observing YHWH’s appointed times doesn’t mean seeking salvation through works. Salvation is through the grace and redemptive work of Messiah. Obedience is the response of a people who love the One who redeemed them. Yeshua said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).
Rosh Hashanah also opens the Ten Days of Awe leading to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This is a time for sober self-examination, repentance, reconciliation, prayer, and renewed submission to YHWH as King. The shofar calls sleepers to awaken. It calls wanderer’s home. It calls a covenant people to remember who they are and to Whom they belong.
The Heart Posture of the Holy Day
Do not approach this appointed time as a trend, aesthetic, or cultural performance. The outward table means little without an inward turning.
Come with humility. Ask YHWH to search the motives, desires, wounds, agreements, and hidden places of the heart (Psalm 139:23–24). Confess known sin honestly. Make restitution where possible. Forgive without pretending that injustice did not occur. Seek reconciliation where it is righteous and safe. Release pride, bitterness, covetousness, sexual immorality, deception, unforgiveness, and rebellion.
Come with reverence. Set aside ordinary distractions. Rest. Pray. Read Leviticus 23:23–25, Numbers 29:1–6, Psalm 81, Joel 2, and the trumpet passages connected with the return and reign of Messiah. If possible, gather with others for worship, Scripture, prayer, a sacred meal, and the sounding of the shofar.
Come with expectation; not sensationalism. We do not need to manufacture predictions to recognize that the world is shaking. Our preparation is not panic; it is devotion. Our security is not secret knowledge; it is covenant faithfulness through Yeshua.
A Table of Remembrance and Hope
Traditional Rosh Hashanah foods often express prayer for a sweet, fruitful, and blessed year. Families may serve:
- Apples dipped in honey, symbolizing the hope for a sweet year
- Round challah, symbolizing continuity and the cycle of the year
- Pomegranates, associated with fruitfulness and abundant righteous deeds
- Dates, carrots, or other naturally sweet foods
- Black-eyed peas or beans, used in some Sephardic traditions as a sign of increase
- Fish, often associated with fruitfulness and abundance
- Honey cake, roasted vegetables, and a festive meal prepared in gratitude
Let the food represent a symbol, and may every symbol become a prayer: “Father, Make us fruitful in righteousness. Sweeten what has been bitter. Restore what has been broken. Teach us to walk in Your ways.”
Return to the Covenant
At Mt. Sinai, YHWH entered covenant with Israel, and the prophets often described that covenant through the language of marriage. He identified the people as His treasured possession, gave them His commands, and called them to be a holy nation (Exodus 19:3–8). The people answered, “All that the LORD hath spoken we will do.” Covenant was never merely about claiming a name. It was about belonging, fidelity, and obedience.
Black America, it is time to return to YHWH.
It is time to separate from idolatry, spiritual compromise, lawlessness, sexual immorality, exploitation, and every practice that competes with wholehearted devotion to Him. Separation meaning, refusing participation in what YHWH calls sin while still speaking truth, seeking justice, showing mercy, and loving our neighbors.
The backslider must return. The fornicator must repent. The deceiver must tell the truth. The exploiter must make restitution. The wounded must seek healing without making pain an altar. Leaders must come out of secrecy and submit to accountability. Congregations must stop protecting platforms at the expense of people. Families must rebuild their altars of prayer. Our community must recover holiness as a life set apart for YHWH.
If the seventh millennium is now, the command remains: love YHWH with all the heart, soul, and strength; walk in righteousness; do justice; love mercy; and remain faithful to Yeshua.
Do you hear the trumpet now? Examine your heart. Gather your household. Turn from sin. Return to the covenant. Honor the appointed time.
For what we are about to experience in this coming Hebraic year, we will need more than church attendance, inherited labels, emotional worship, or prophetic excitement. We will need full devotion to YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We will need clean hands, pure hearts, disciplined lives, courageous truth, and enduring faith.
The year is turning. The trumpet is sounding. Black America, return to YHWH.
